GISSING, George. New Grub Street A Novel. Three volumes. Orig. dark green cloth. London: Smith, Elder, & Co., 1891. First edition. Sadleir 971. Wolff 2552. A good set in a 1/2 morocco folding box. One of Gissing's two best books and one of the greatest novels of the 19th century. The first edition consisted of 750 copies, 390 of which were sold to cirulating libraries,. Needless to say, copies in this condition are very rare.
