Superb, tight first edition of this "Companion to the Internationally Acclaimed Television Series from WTTW / Chicago," a long-running PBS documentary series, inscribed large and bold in black fineline on half-title page by its executive producer and famed correspondent: "To Ibby and Bob, / Two explorers who capture the / spirit of exploration -- / Bill Kurtis / 12/95." Robert Malott (1926-2018) was a noted Chicago business leader, CEO of FMC Corporation, Republican politico and philanthropist as well as amateur explorer and adventurer. Laid in are promotional pieces about the show's seventh season and description of that season's episodes. A choice copy.
