Engle, who taught at University of Iowa starts his Christmas letter of with a sonnet to Ralph Waldo Emerson. Other poets are Emily Dickinson, Henry David Thoreau, Herman Melville and Robert Frost.book is signed but here are no ther writign or underlinings. There are a few spots and the inner fly leaf has a small bend upper left corner.
