Carolyn See is the author of many novels, including The Handyman and Golden Days , as well as such acclaimed works of nonfiction as Making a Literary Life: Advice for Writers and Other Dreamers and Dreaming: Hard Luck and Good Times in America . She is also a book critic for The Washington Post and has been on the boards of the National Book Critics Circle and PEN/West International.
