Super octavo, half leather bound marbled boards, gilt lettering & rule to spine, xvi + 501pp, illus/plates, VG- (v heavy cracking to spine with heavy loss to leather at extrems, v heavy cracking to hinges- boards shaky, rear board almost fully detached but just hanging on, heavy chafing & scuffing to boards & extrems with some considerable surface loss, heavy tanning & foxing to page edges, prev. ownsership blind embossing to prelims, light foxing to eps, moderate doodlings to rear eps in pencil, prev. owner's name in ink to top of full title page, moderate foxing to pages throughout, pgs 496-499 + plates completely detached but present, heavy creasing & moderate foxing to plates/illus to rear, heavy water damage/staining to some plates)
