Washington, D.C.: The Association for the Study of Negro Life and History, 1924. Hardcover. Near Fine. First edition. Foreword by Carter G. Woodson. Small quarto. 341pp. Dark green cloth gilt. Owner's small owner's stamp and shelf-number on the front fly, bottom corners bumped, very faint spotting on the boards, else near fine lacking the presumed dust jacket. Taylor was an African-American historian at Fisk University, who graduated from Michigan, and earned his Masters and Doctorate from Harvard.
