Pioneering sociological study from the late 1950s-1960 of "Crescent City,'' a pseudonym for an urban center in the Middle South that demonstrates "the nature, function, & effectiveness of Negro leadership & its relation to the white leadership of the community." Focus is on "Negro policy & action in the movement toward desegregation of the schools & other public facilities." A First Edition, first printing from 1962, this hardcover book has blue cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering to spine. As it has been in storage since received Brand New for review (review notice laid in), it is in Fine condition: completely clean, binding tight & square, pages creamy white & unmarked.
