London: Hodder and Stoughton, 1949. 223 pp. 19 x 13 pp. Off-white cloth covered boards with red titling to cover and spine, in an illustrated dustjacket printed in blue, black, and red. Stated 'First Printed April 1949' with no additional printings listed. Rubbing and some toning to jacket, with some light spotting in some areas. Nicking and some chipping to head and tail of jacket. 27 mm closed tear to tail of front panel, with 3 x 6 cm piece torn from head of panel which was 'repaired' with clear tape on verso. Bumping and toning to spine ends of book, with some bumping to corners. Dust soil and some freckling to edges of text bock. Some light foxing scattered across first and last pages. Binding firm. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Good.
