Morris West (1916-1999) was an Australian novelist and playwright. The Navigator is an intense and challenging story of one man's search for an uncharted, legendary island to which all navigators are said to go on the eve of their deaths. The navigator, half-Polyneian and half-caucasian, is the descendent of a line of navigators. He is also the inheritor of the mana of his ancestors, mana being a Polynesian reference to supernatural or magical powers. 407p. Measures 5.75x8 inches.
