Index. Dust jacket somewhat worn and soiled: edge tears and chips. Commander James V. Jollliff received the Frank G. Jollliff graduated from the U. S. Naval Academy in 1954 and served as an engineer officer on the USS Samuel N. Moore and then served on the USS Cimarron. He is a former co-chairman of the Naval Engineering Division, Engineering Department, U.S. Naval Academy. Commander Hollis E. Robertson graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1956 and served as an instructor of engineering at the U.S. Naval Academy. The Naval Engineer's Guide was written to meet a clear need in the field of shipboard engineering. Its objective was to provide a compact volume of practical knowledge for both the engineering novice and the old hand. While attention is paid to engineering watch standing, the book concentrates on lessons learned from experience, including helpful hints concerning routine maintenance and repair, overhauls, refresher training, damage and casualty control, administration, and a multitude of other subjects which daily confront the shipboard engineer. This volume includes specimen questions for the shipboard engineer.
