London: Richard Bentle, 1866. Two volumes. 358; 375pp. Plates. Frontispiece in each volume. Original green gilt pictorial cloth. Dampstaining to rear boards of both volumes with dampstaining to spine of second volume. Otherwise bright and very good. Lord (1818-1872) was the naturalist with the British North American Boundary Commission. This book contains an extensive overview of natural history in British Columbia, including birds, fishes, reptiles, etc. Plates show a camp on the boundary line, Indian burial ground, various fishes, a group of Spokan Indians, the Kettle Falls, etc. An interesting narrative based on observations made while Lord served on the Boundary Commission.
