Bohn's Library printing with Bohn's Libraries catalogue ad in rear and ad for George Bell and Sons in front; FORTY hand-colored plates, all accounted; 12mo, unattractively rebound in green cloth with new eps; good (boards soiled; bump to to edge and tear to joint of front board; spine ends bumped and worn; corners worn; edges of eps roughly cut; front hinge repaired with same paper as eps; front hinge starting again; scar to bottom edge of rfep where bottom edge of pastedown was adhered; chip and tears to first ad page; brittle and toned tissueguard for frontis has chipped and torn side edge; tear and large chip to side edge of title page; foxing to frontis and title; edges of pages worn and rough; side edges of several plates are trimmed shorter than pages, plates at pp35, 80, 84, 158, 160, 198, 222, 243, and 309, does not affect engravings; side edges of pages from p153-161 trimmed shorter than fellow pages, no loss of text; tear to side edge of p199-200; starting at last ad page; few spots of foxing to several plates; pages toned); 416pp incl. index and ads plus FORTY hand-colored engravings, all accounted.
