Very Good. 768 p., clean and unmarked; many fabulous period photos, the sections on Alsace and on Jerusalem are full-page and in color; original artwork includes fold-out color art reproduction of "Vasco Da Gama at the Court of the Zamorin of Calicut" by Jose Velloso Salgado; binding firm; half-leather boards with gilt lettering between raised bands on spine have a bit of rubbing and bumping.
