Philadelphia: National Publishing Co, 1884. Early Reprint. Hardcover. Very Good-. Stout 8vo. Pp. 872. Frontis. engravings with tissue guard. Illustrations in the text and plates with tissue guards. With three-color presentation page (blanks unfilled) and index. Tan cloth, titles and elaborate decorations stamped in red, black and gilt on the front and spine, in blind on the back, decorated endpapers, edges gilt. Cover edges rubbed, light scuffs and stains. Tissue guards lightly foxed, leaves otherwise unmarked and binding solid. With chapters on writing well, book-keeping, legal forms, historical statistics, parliamentary law, the language of flowers, writing poetry, home amusements, remedies, etc. A remarkably well-preserved copy of a handsome Gilded Age home reference.
