Complete edition, including not only the very rare 43 plates, but the even rarer 6 additional plates, signed by Belzoni as presentation copy. John Murray, London, 1820 and 1822 for the plates (first and only edition), 1821 for the text volume (second edition of the 1820 edition). Text volume: In-4, frontispiece-portrait, xix + 533 pages & 2 plates, 1 folding map, full contemporary calf with five raised bands. Very good condition. Signed by J[ohn] Leyland Feilden (1821-1915) and has a front endpaper bookplate of his nephew Henry Wemyss Feilden (1838-1921), naturalist on the British Arctic Expedition of 1875-76. Plates album: Full contemporary leather with five raised bands. Front outside cover stamped with the British Royal Family Order of the Garter. 1 text page containing the description of the plates, followed by 44 plates on 34 leaves (plates 4&5, 9&10, 11&12, 13-16, 27&41, 29&30, 28&31, 34&35 are on the same page), of which plates 19, 24, 27 and 40 are foldouts + 6 additional plates, on 6 leaves of which 1, 5 and 6 are foldouts. The colors are vivid and bright, altogether the plates are in very good condition. One of the rarest works in Egyptology, almost never found complete with the additional 6 plates.
