Text volume: In-4, frontispiece-portrait, xix + 533 pages & 2 plates, 1 folding map, full contemporary calf with five raised bands. Very good condition. Signed by J[ohn] Leyland Feilden (1821-1915) and has a front endpaper bookplate of his nephew Henry Wemyss Feilden (1838-1921), naturalist on the British Arctic Expedition of 1875-76. Plates album: Full contemporary leather with five raised bands. Front outside cover stamped with the British Royal Family Order of the Garter. 1 text page containing the description of the plates, followed by 44 plates on 34 leaves (plates 4&5, 9&10, 11&12, 13-16, 27&41, 29&30, 28&31, 34&35 are on the same page), of which plates 19, 24, 27 and 40 are foldouts + 6 additional plates, on 6 leaves of which 1, 5 and 6 are foldouts. The colors are vivid and bright, altogether the plates are in very good condition. One of the rarest works in Egyptology, almost never found complete with the additional 6 plates.
