This is a lovely facsimile of the 1818 edition of a Narrative of a Journey in the Interior of China, and of A Voyage to and From that Country, in the year 1816 and 1817.The volumes also contains an account of the most interesting transaction of Lord Amherst's Embassy to the Court of Pekin, and observations on the countries which it visited. Clarke Abel was a member of the Geological Society and Chief Medical Officer and Naturalist to the Embassy of China. The volume is richly illustrated throughout with seventeen plate illustrations and three folding maps. Collated, complete. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart with a few marks to the boards and spine. Internally, firmly bound with bright clean pages. Very Good Indeed
