About This Item

London: George G.Harrap & Co., Ltd, 1961. First Thus . Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo. A fascinating little anthology and a true rarity, from the “Harrap’s Modern English Series.” Churchill’s “The Eve of Omdurman” is excerpted from THE RIVER WAR, appearing alongside contributions by George Orwell, P.G. Wodehouse and Dylan Thomas, among others. The book is a lovely little trifle and does not appear in Cohen’s bibliography. This is a very good copy, without dust jacket (as issued?). There is a City of Leicester Ex-Library inkstamp on the front endpaper but no other markings. The contents are fine.
