About This Item
Budapest: Pantheon, nd, 1928 Octavo, decorated cloth, 319pp. (Days of our Days) Kassák edited a series in 1928 for this publisher called The New Hungarian Novel, which included works by Márai, Lovászy and Jarno along with his own. His intention, especially in this novel, is to produce art that will provoke social action. This novel pits workers against the authority of the state, with each hero-protagonist on either side coming to terms with social injustice. The cloth cover design may be by Kassák, which served as an insignia for the cloth edition of this series and who designed the wrappers for them as well. Worldcat finds this in two North American libraries
