Quarto (5-3/4" x 9-1/2") in 20th century half blue morocco leather and blue cloth boards with matching corners and a gilt-lettered spine with five raised bands, marbled endpapers; 400, [12] pages. A collection of 20 letters written by the author while traveling in Italy containing descriptions of the scenery and society. Illustrated with an engraved hand-colored title, a hand-colored folding map, and 16 hand-colored aquatint plates by Thomas Rowlandson. Laid in is an old catalog description for this copy from Myers & Co. Catalog 382 with their small bookseller ticket at the bottom of the front pastedown.
