About This Item

MP3 Audio CD. Annie Roe Carr was a pseudonym used, among many others, by the Stratemeyer Syndicate ? the first book packager to produce its books exclusively toward children, rather than adults. Set up by Edward Stratemeyer, the Syndicate was run by many dedicated authors and responsible for numerous children?s tales such as the Nancy Drew, Tom Swift and Bobbsey Twins series.

Nan Sherwood at Pine Camp is the first book in the Nan Sherwood series began by the Stratemeyer Syndicate in 1916. The series went on to became a great success through six additional stories that included titles such as Nan Sherwood at Lakeview Hall and Nan Sharewood at Palm Beach, and was completed in 1937 with the seventh book, Nan Sherwood?s Summer Holidays.

One of the most thrilling books in the series, Nan Sherwood at Pine Camp tells the story of two Illinois teenagers and their exciting adventures together with their friends and family. Set in Michigan in the early 20th century, it focuses primarily on their opportunity to go to a boarding school. The lead character is Nan (Nancy) Sherwood, a kindhearted heroine whose escapades provide for an entertaining and thrilling read, especially since some of them are quite dangerous.

For both adult readers and children who are more interested in uplifting and inspiring stories of good cheer and exciting adventure, Nan Sherwood at Pine Camp may quite possibly be a perfect choice. Written in the uplifting spirit of the Stratemeyer books, it features stories where the heroes and heroines of the book prove their worth to all of their peers ? rich and poor alike ? and where kindness always prevails, even against all odds.

This delightful book is a favorite of generations of readers, and has often been passed down through the years from father to son or mother to daughter.
