Boston and New York: Houghton Mifflin, 1932. 8vo, pp. 313. Original red boards, lettered in green to front panel and spine. Illustrated dust jacket. Light offsetting to endpapers, but a near fine copy in a very good dust jacket, faded at spine and with a little wear to lower edge. First US edition. Preceded by the UK edition published earlier the same year with the title The Gold Comfit Box. The fifth of seven Williams titles featuring the German spy Dr. Adolph Grundt, better known as Clubfoot. Scarce in the dust jacket, and a very well preserved copy. HUBIN, p. 439
