New York: W.W. Norton, 1934. In Asey's fourth appearance, the owner of the Cape Cod Tavern claims someone is trying to kill her. The next day she is murdered. Early reprint. Spine ends bumped with a touch of wear at the edges, blue boards lightly spotted. Faint foxing to the edges of the text block, previous owner's name on the front pastedown, hinges a little loose. Signed by Taylor on the front end paper. Jacket rubbed with chips and tears, including 1/2" loss to the spine ends. Front flap creased with the lower corner clipped. Faint damp stain visible to the front flap and lower rear panel, more readily visible to the interior of the jacket. Internal tape reinforcement to the spine folds, in new Brodart.. Signed by Author. Hard Cover. Good/Fair.
