Tight & solid volume bound in forest green cloth, black panel affixed to spine with gilt lettering within sharp and clear. Light wear to corners and spine ends. Interior very clean, unmarked, toned. Frontispiece tissue protected illustration of Eugene Sue. A blank flyleaf has a tear on the closed lower edge. Five additional full page illustrations. Vol I Part I is 346 pp; Part II has 333 pp. They are numbered separately in the book. Eugene Sue was a French novelist (b 1804 d 1857 Marie Joseph Sue), best known for popular and sensational romance novels, including The Mysteries of Paris. 8vo. 1903, Century Co.
