Binding tight and solid. Christopher Tabori (1879-1944) was a notable journalist who wrote over fifty books. He also had an abiding interest in psychical research and the paranormal. After his death, his son found six volumes, written in longhand, which comprised Tabori's "occult diary." His diary is reproduced in this volume. From the Editor's Preface Cornelius Tabori, my father, was born in 1870 at Szolnok, a sprawling Hungarian town on the River Tisza. He was murdered by the Nazis in July 1944; the exact day of his death has not been established. Between these two dates there lay a life of considerable literary and journalistic achievement. Over fifty books, thousands of articles, hundreds of lectures. [After his death] among his papers I found half a dozen volumes, all in longhand. For over 40 years he kept what I might call an "occult diary." He was interested in psychical research, in the paranormal and the supernatural; though he was mainly interested in the criminological aspects of these subjects. For more than four decades he jotted down his personal experiences, his meetings with mediums, clairvoyants, hypnotists, researchers and graphologists. The greater part of this material has never been published in this country. I have selected, translated and edited this material, and appended notes where necessary. But this is my father’s book… EB; 8.8 X 5.7 X 0.8 inches .
