London: Sampson Low, Marston & Company. VG. (1948). 1st Edition. Hardcover. First edition, first printing with "First Published 1948" on the copyr ight page. Bound in red cloth with black lettering and line decoration s on the front board. 280 pages. A Very Good copy in a Good dust jacke t. The book has moderate rubbing to its edges. The endpapers are light ly toned. Light scattered foxing to the preliminary pages and to the o uter edge of the page block. Contents otherwise tight and unmarked. Th e dust jacket has chips to its spine tips and corners. It has a plus a 1/2" round chip near the middle of its spine. The rear panel has chi ps along its lower edge. Soiling to the spine and rear panel. .
