Japanese Fairy Tale Series, No. 15

One of the Hasegawa "Japanese Fairy Tale Series". Large 32mo (3 ½ x 6 in – 10.0 x 15.2 cm). Takejiro Hasegawa, editor, 17 Kami Negishi-cho, Shitaya-ku, Tokio. Ca. 1911 (undated, 2nd edition). 22 pages on 11 folded leaves. Translated by Basil Hall Chamberlain. Illustrations by Kobayashi Eitaku.

A crepe paper book ("chirimen-bon") with silk thread tied four stab hole "yamato toji" binding, and with folded crepe paper sheets. Illustrated with color wood block prints in bright colors.

Very good condition given the age, no creasing, no cuts, light water stain (see pictures) across the whole volume. Spine covering intact. Stab ties intact. Please consider the photos.

Ein Bändchen aus der "Japanese Fairy Tale Series" Reihe von Hasegawa. 10,0 x 15,2 cm. Takejiro Hasegawa, Hrsg., 17 Kami Negishi-cho, Shitaya-ku, Tokio. Ca. 1911 (undatiert, zweite Ausgabe). 22 Seiten auf 11 gefalteten Blättern. Ins Englische übersetzt von Basil Hall Chamberlain, Illustrationen von Kobayashi Eitaku.

Gedruckt auf traditionellem strukturiertem Crepe-Washi-Papier ("chirimen-bon"). Seidenfaden-Bindung (vierlochiger Stich), "yamato toji". Illustriert mit zahlreichen farbigen Holzschnitten in kräftigen, leuchtenden Farben.

Sehr guter Zustand angesichts des Alters, keine Knicke, keine Einrisse, leichter Wasserfleck (vgl. Photo), der sich durch den gesamten Band zieht. Die zarte Beschichtung des offenen Einbandes ist intakt, ebenso wie die Seidenfaden-Bindung. Bitte beachten Sie die Bilder, weitere Scans gerne auf Anfrage.
