Good, 1st edition (4th issue), no d/j; brown heavy boards, black lettering to spine & front board, (moderate scuffing & bruising to extremes; spine, cracking to rear hinge; text block firm, pages crisp and clean; v light foxing to edges.. 12mo (190 x 130 / 7_"" x 5""). Of the eight stories in the collection, half feature the popular characters Jeeves and Bertie Wooster, while the others concern Reggie Pepper, an early prototype for Bertie Wooster. Revised versions of all the Jeeves stories in this collection were later published in the 1925 short story collection Carry On, Jeeves. One of the Reggie Pepper stories in this collection was later rewritten as a Jeeves story, which was also included in Carry On, Jeeves.

Synopsis

Wodehouse's classic collection of the Jeeves tales includes "Leave It To Jeeves," "Jeeves and the Unbidden Guest," "Jeeves and the Hardboiled Egg," "Absent Treatment," "Helping Freddie," "Rallying Round Old George," "Doing Clarence A Bit of Good," and "The Aunt and the Sluggard."
