Saint Paul: The Webb Publishing Co., [1942]., 1942. First edition. First edition. 8vo. Inked presentation inscription on the title page signed by the author. Pictorial cloth, titles and decoration stamped in brown on the front cover and spine, [14], 313 pp., author's note, frontispiece, numerous illustrations including one by Will James; one by Koermer; one by Remington and from photographs, plates, portraits, cattle brands. A book about the pioneer West by a man that grew up during the days when the Badlands were being transformed from lawless cow country to modern civilization. Small stamped name and address at bottom of front fly leaf, else a fine copy in lightly rubbed dust jacket, with light wear to the spine ends, corners and extremities.
