Washington, DC: Brassey's, 2000. Paperback. Foreword by James B. Stockdale. Small 4to. Stiff glossy pictorial wrappers. xvii, 219pp. Map, illustrations. Near fine. Superb, tight first softbound edition of this memoir by one of the survivors of this infamous WW2 march, handsomely inscribed and signed by the author in blue fineline on front flyleaf: "4/9/01 / Bataan Day / I hope you find / this story interesting. / Lester Tenney." Tenney (1920-2019) was a tank commander with the 192nd Tank Battalion and endured three and a half years of slave labor; he went on postwar to become a finance professor at Arizona State University. From the collection of Adlai E. Stevenson III (1930-2021), U.S. Senator from Illinois (1969-81).
