The first edition, first impression of this work by Spike Milligan. The fourth in his series of war memoirs. This book describes the author's experiences as a soldier. With superb observation an humour, it is a book where "suddenly, nothing happened all the time." A remarkable memoir of Spike Milligan's experiences in Italy during the Second World War. Illustrated with various photographs throughout. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally excellent with minor shelf wear and a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine. The dust wrapper is unclipped and very smart with only minor shelf wear and a slight edge wear, with minor chipping to the head of the spine and a slight sunning to the wrapper. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean. Illustrated in text throughout with various photographs in black and white. Near Fine
