About This Item
New York, New York, U.S.A.: Alfred A. Knopf Inc, 1966. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 1966 Knopf FIRST edition, 1st issue with "The king" on line 15 of page 46 (as opposed to "The King" in the 2nd issue). This book is in VG/VG condition. The HB is very clean with a mild bowing in the boards. The DJ is not price clipped, carries the printed red 9/66 on the front flap and retains its bright yellow color. There are several professionally repaired small tears with minor fraying at each spine end. The publisher tinted the upper page edges in a yellow complementing the color of the dust jacket. The text is clean with no writing, marking, book plate, or remainder marks. A very lovely copy of a very early Updike! **Brenbooks specializes in first edition books and carries many of Updike's FIRSTS, some signed!**
