Rome: Antonii de Rubeis apud Pantheon in via Seminarii Romani, 1750. Vellum. Volume 1 only. Contents: [Add. t.-pl., t.-p.] - Erudito Lectori - Index Tabularum - Animadversationes Joh. Bottarii [with pl. I-VI] - Index Rerum - [Plates 1-90]. Elephant folio in rubbed and worn vellum. Vellum torn at spine edges and splitting along front joint, worn away at board corners. Title block mostly chipped away. Moderate foxing, a few small damp-stains. Otherwise quite sound. With added engraved title page plate (dated 1748) and title-page vignette, signed as drawn and engraved by Giuseppe Vasi. Most plates show Gio. Domen Camiglia's signature as draughtsman, as well as their various engravers' signatures (P. Anton Pazzi, Carlo Gregori, Nicola Billy, Silvestro Pomared, Girolamo Rossi, Francesco Massoni/Mazzoni, Pietro Parocel, N, Abtibuib Corsi, Nicola Guttierez, Gio. Batta Sintes). The other decorations/illustrations are not signed. Captioline Museums are a group of art and archaeological museums in Piazza del Campidoglio, on top of Capitoline Hill in Rome. The history of the museum can be traced to 1471, opened to the public in 1734, and considered one of the oldest in the world.
