Considerable wear with losses to top and bottom edges, head and tail of spine, separated at rear spine fold. Heavy foxing overall. Now re-inforced and in clear protective wrapper. ACC* Contents condition: PRIVATE COPY NOT EX-LIBRARY. Gift dedication to ffep dated Dec. 1936. Top & fore-edge aged and dusty. Clean, crisp and tight with little reading wear, slight foxing to text, otherwise no visible faults. VG.* Illustrations: A number of b/w line drawn cartoons within text throughout.* Pages: 149 pp. text. v pp. blank pages at rear.* Description: A companion volume to ?Foreigners or the World In A Nutshell,? which became extremely popular and formed a showcase for Nicolas Bentley and his very humorous drawings. Pithy statements throughout with delightful visual additions. E.g. Lincolnshire is flat and has little Holland. Lincolnshire has a poacher. Norfolk is flat. It has fens, and as though that were not enough it has broads. Naturally it has jackets.* A NEAR VG+ copy of the 1st edition with some age and wear in a POOR re-inforced but protected dust jacket.*
