About This Item
Toronto: William Briggs, 1906 Book. Good. Hardcover. Reprint. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Original illustrated olive cloth on boards. Previous owner's name and date (1906) in bold, flowing script. An early Canadian printing of this 1901 volume. If you're anything like me, you might find this story quite easy to get into, and rather hard to put down. Mrs. Wiggs is dirt poor but has high moral values which she tries to pass on to her five children as well as her neighbours' kids. A touch of romance rounds out this popular volume. Clean and complete, with some light strain to binding. Pp. 145-152 edge-torn, not affecting text. NOTE; Please see also our listings of her two other titles matching this, Sandy and Mr. Opp, under the name, Alice Hegan Rice. 153 pp..
