About This Item

London: Longmans, Green, and Co. , 1933. Cloth. Very Good/Good Only. 7.5" by 5". Not Stated. A smart illustrated edition of this adventure novel from popular Victorian writer H. Rider Haggard, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Illustrated with a frontispiece, eleven plates, and many in-text figures. Collated complete. Based on a well-known anecdote of the time, this novel concerns a marooned man's will tattooed on the back of a woman. Written by Sir Henry Rider Haggard, an English writer of adventure fiction romances set in exotic locations and a pioneer of the lost world literary genre. In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, smart with light bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine and board edges. Original unclipped dust wrapper is sound with light chipping to the extremities and loss to the head of the spine and front panel. Sunning to the spine with the odd small closed tear to the extremities. A 2" closed tear to the front panel. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot. Very Good
