Original chromolithograph from The Illustrated Book of Poultry, by Lewis Wright. Published by Cassell, Petter & Galpin; London, Paris & New York: 1872. This is a good/fair original chromolithograph from the first edition of Cassell’s Poultry Book drawn by J. W. Ludlow and printed by Vincent Brooks, Day & Sons Ltd., London. This fine original chromolithograph is an actual portrait of a prizewinning cultivated breed as mentioned at the bottom of print. Image size is approx 8” x 6.5” on sheet 10.25” x 8”. Print shows signs of foxing and water stain; picture is bright and ready for raming. Upper left corner is missing; one inch tear at lower right edge. A fair price for an original print.
