About This Item
London: Watts & Co., 1926. Cloth. Very Good Indeed/Very Good Indeed. 7.5" by 5". None. A very smart second impression of this rebuttal of the criticisms of historian Hilaire Belloc. First edition, second impression printed September 1926. Originally published September 1926. Illustrated with two caricatures of Wells and Belloc as a frontispiece. A short book written as a rebuttal of the criticism of historian Hilaire Belloc. In 1926, Belloc published his A Companion to Mr. Wells's "Outline of History" as a critique of Wells" earlier historical textbook, The Outline of History. A devout Roman Catholic, Belloc was deeply offended by Wells" treatment of Christianity in The Outline. Written by Herbert George Wells, an English writer. Prolific in many genres, he wrote more than fifty novels and dozens of short stories. In the original red cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear only. Original unclipped dust wrapper also very smart with light shelf wear and minor chipping to the head of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
