About This Item

London: Chatto & Windus, 1962 . First edition. Cloth. Near Fine/Very Good. 9" by 5.5". None. The first edition of this memoir by Elspeth Huxley, following on from her last memoir 'The Flame Trees of Thika'. The first edition. In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper. This autobiographical work was written by Elsbeth Huxley and provides a follow up to her work 'The Flame Trees of Thika' where she describes her childhood in Africa. This work describes Huxley's return to Kenya after World War I. In the publisher's original cloth. Externally excellent with a slight lean and very minimal offsetting to the endpapers. The wrap is smart with sunning to the spine, small closed tears, marks to the rear, edge wear, the odd chip and slight rubbing to the spine and joints. Tape repairs to the verso. Internally firmly bound with clean and lightly age toned pages. Near Fine
