An illustrated first edition memoir of motor-racing in the 1920s, written by journalist and motorist 'Sammy' Davis. An autobiographical recollection of the author's early years spent as a motorist, including his times racing Le Mans and breaking records.Written by Sammy Davis, a British motorist and writer. This was his debut work on the sport, and was followed by numerous other titles; he also acted as sports editor for The Autocar, as well as placing first in the 24 hours of Le Mans.A first edition.Illustrated with thirty-two photographs, six maps and sketches by the author. In the publisher's original quarter cloth binding. Externally generally smart, with a little bumping to the extremities and the tail of the spine, which is a little bumped. Prior owner's inscription in pencil to the front pastedown. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are a touch age-toned at the edges. Very Good
