Novel. (London: Chatto and Windus: 1897) A New Edition. A yellow-back edition with an advertisement for Pears' Soap on rear board. Pictorial boards (that is, hard covers) pp. iv, 412, 32 publisher's advertisements dated Feb. 1899. The coloured Eno's Fruit Salt advertisement is included before the publisher's advertisement. Head and foot of spine, corners and edges of boards and external hinges worn; boards a little rubbed; a little underlining and some marginal marks in coloured pencil; otherwise internally very good.
