Description:
1866 King Arthur Lancelot Knights of Round Table Morte Darthur 1634 Stansby 3v
In 1485, "Le Morte Darther" or, "The Death of Arthur" was first published – the first time the traditional tales of King Arthur, Guinevere, Lancelot, Merlin, and the Knights of the Round Table finally was available to be read, instead of just told as a mythical story. It is, without equal, the best-known work of Arthurian literature and is a principal source for many plays, operas, and modern stories.
This fine 19th-century, three volume edition was collected and edited by Thomas Wright who included a reproduction of the 1634 Stansby title page.
