Presumed first U.S. ed.; 332 p., clean and unmarked anywhere on strong paper only faintly age-toned; former owner's book plate on front paste down; binding firm; clean red boards somewhat sunned on spine, as is patch on which mostly effaced lettering is printed--paper patch also chipped at upper edge. Light bumping of corners and slight rubbing at crown and foot of spine.
