About This Item
Synopsis
Reeve Lindbergh, the daughter of aviator Charles Lindbergh and poet Anne Morrow Lindbergh, is the editor of numerous books for children, including IN EVERY TINY GRAIN OF SAND, and the author of THE CIRCLE OF DAYS, as well as several books for adult readers. She says of ON MORNING WINGS, "Psalm 139 was one of my parents' favorites, and as I read it over and over again I realized that it conveys the sense that we’re all held in the embrace of God and the universe. I wanted to emphasize the universality of the spirit in this book." Holly Meade is the author and illustrator of A PLACE TO SLEEP, and has illustrated many acclaimed books for children, including HUSH! A THAI LULLABY by Minfong Ho, which was a Caldecott Honor Book. In order to capture the spirit of this adaptation of Psalm 139, Holly Meade drew on the sense of wonder she felt as a child when in the presence of something bigger and grander than herself.
