About This Item

Victor Gollancz Ltd., London, 1977. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. First UK Edition (first printing), issued a year after the somewhat more common US edition. 8vo. 180pp. Red boards lettered in gold at the spine. Top- and fore edge lightly spotted, and with a touch of toning to the paperstock. An area of unsightly creasing to the head of the rear endpaper. A very good copy in virtually fine non-price-clipped dust wrapper. A follow up to the author's 1974 collection 'Tales of Black Widowers'; twelve more mystery stories (nine reprinted from various periodicals and three hitherto unprinted), featuring his fictional club of mystery solvers, the Black Widowers (which is based on the New York City literary dining club Trap Door Spiders to which Asimov belonged)..
