New York: Horizon Press, 1975. Sanford (pseudonym for Julian Lawrence Shapiro,1904-2003) was an acclaimed novelist and screenwriter who was a victim of McCarthy and his ilk, due to his membership in the Communist party. His personal history of America flows from that viewpoint. This is a Near Fine copy of the First Edition. Lime green cloth binding, with gilt lettering on the spine and a reproduced signature on the front. Clean text; 285 pages. Very slightly splayed, else a Fine copy. The dustjacket is complete (unclipped, but shows a bit of edgewear, minor darkening of the spine, and a closed tear on the front panel. In an archival plastic protector.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Very Good Plus. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
