Containing a selection or prose work by Maurice Maeterlinck, Belgian playwright and poet, receiver of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1911. He often wrote on death and the meaning of life. Featuring pieces such as 'Le Tresor des Humbles,' 'La Sagesse e la Destinee,' and 'La Vie des Abeilles' among others. Including plays, short stories, &c. Rebound in full calf with gilt blind stamp to front board, from the Home and Colonial School Society, with intricate gilt tooling to spine, marbled edges and endpapers. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear only, lightly rubbed to joints and extremities of spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Very Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
