About This Item

London : Oxford University Press, 1966. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 522 pages. Small book with blue boards, square, tight binding, bright, white pages. Page edges have a former owner's name, personal identification number stamped and a modest date stamped inside fep top left corner. Dust jacket is price clipped and has a bit of red ink on the edge, a spillover from the name stamped on the page edges, minor creasing on back dj. The moonstone itself, an enormous diamond originally stolen from the image of the Indian moon god at the seige of Seringapatam, brings misfortune to its successive owners. It is inherited by Rachel Verinder on her eighteenth birthday, but disappears the same night, and the story is occupied with the contest of cunning for its possession between its rightful owners, and the Englishman, Godfrey Ablewhite. The is World's Classics #316. The book you see in the images is the actual book we have for sale. Why pay more?
