Atlanta, GA: Turner Publishing Inc, 1994. Early Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. 6 1/4 X 9 1/4 Inches. 383 PP. Signed and inscribed by Alan Shepard directly on the title-page. Signed "To Hans Hosenthien, Member of the Team" in the hand of Shepard. Original price of $21.95 intact on front flap of DJ. The first American and second human in space (just behind Gagarin). Comes with COA from the highly respected R&R Auction. A very sharp, as new condition copy. NOTE: Hans henning Hosenthien was a German engineer who worked with the German A4 rocket program under Wernher von Braun. Afther WWII, Hosenthien immigrated to the United States, along with von raun and several others in the German missile program (part of Operation Paperclip). He worked for NASA at the Marshall Space Flight Center as the Head of Flight Dynamcs.
