About This Item
New York: Boni and Liveright, 1926. Signed Limited Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. x, 328 pages ; 24 cm. Hardcover. Publisher's original 3/4 black cloth and patterned paper with copper only decorations over boards, red paper spine label and gilt chevrons to spine, rough cut edges. Book Condition: spine label lacking, ditto any and all gilt to spine; covers still nice and sparkly with their gold onlay; interior pages bright and unmarred. Binding very sound with no sign of the loose hinges that seem to plague this title. Lacking the slipcase. "This edition ... is ... limited to 550 numbered copies signed by the author, of which 535 are for sale"--Page [ii]. Theodore Dreiser was nominated for the Nobel Prize in literature in 1930; though as it turned out, that was the year that the prize was awarded to Sinclair Lewis.
