Paris: Albert Levy, 1921. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. First Edition.. Large portfolio of 100 beautiful photogravure plates depicting Moorish architecture and ornamentation, in original portfolio with fabric ties (size approx. 17" x 13"). With descriptive text by J. de la Neziere and Preface by Marshal Lyautey. All text is in French. The one-hundred plates have been carefully counted and all are present, including four color plates. Each is in very good+ or better condition. Portfolio is of heavy brown board with blue-green lettering on cover, blue-green cloth spine (chipped small gold lettering on spine, some holes and snags to spine), ties of cotton twill still in very good condition. Boards are in good solid condition and have protected the prints very well, but front board has some water staining. Dated Decembre 1921 (December 1921) at close of J. de la Neziere's historical and descriptive opening chapter. A rare and beautiful complete set of plates depicting some of the most beautiful examples of Moroccan art and architecture. Thirteen additional loose plates from another set are included, which state at top margin "PRECIS DE L'ART ARABE", and are also examples of Arab architecture and ornamentation..
